The King of Glory - Part 3 - Love

Prayers

1.       Father show me and my family your enduring love the more in the name of Jesus.

2.       Father let the in working of your love in me cause me to prevail over every difficult situation in Jesus name.

3.       Father let your love see me through to the end in Jesus name.

Who is a king?

The oxford dictionary defines a king as ruler, sovereign, monarch, supreme ruler, crowned head, majesty, Crown, head of state, royal personage, emperor, prince, potentate, overlord, liege lord, lord, leader and chief. A person or thing regarded as the finest or most important in their sphere or group.

Here we are also talking about the King of the earth, King of heaven, the King of kings and Lord of Lords.

Psalm 47:6-7 6Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises! 7For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.

1 Chronicles 29:11-12: Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.

What is Glory?

Glory is defined as shining beauty. Synonyms include magnificence, splendor, resplendence, grandeur, majesty, greatness, impressiveness, gloriousness, nobility, pomp, stateliness, sumptuousness, opulence, beauty, elegance, brilliance, gorgeousness, splendidness, wonder, delight, wonderful thing, glorious thing, marvel, phenomenon, sight and spectacle.

What is Love?

Love has been defined as an intense feeling of deep affection, an unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another; such as the fatherly concern for a child or the Fatherly concern and care of God for humankind or the brotherly concern for others. It also means to hold dear or cherish something or someone. Having the best interest of someone at heart.

Love is sacrificial.

Love is benevolent.

God’s Love provides security – eternal security.

God’s Love provides assurance.

The love of God is usually defined as agape love, selfless, sacrificial and unconditional love.

The implications of the above is that:

·         God has a deep affection for you.

·         God has an unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for you.

·         God holds you dear, cherishes and adores you.

·         God has your best interest at heart.

·         God’s love towards you is selfless, sacrificial and unconditional love.

·         His love is to give glory to Him. Your life will give glory to God in Jesus name.

·         His love is transforming. May the love of God positively and gloriously transform your life in Jesus name.

·         His love is unequalled or incomparable. May the incomparable love of God make you positively distinct in Jesus name.

·         God’s love provides you assurance of eternal life.

What are the implications of the King of Glory as a Loving God?

In love:

1.       God has made a provision to save you eternally: 1 John 4:10

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins (NLT).

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins (KJV).

You will not miss God’s provision of eternal life in Jesus name.

2.       Salvation is available in Christ Jesus – salvation/deliverance from sins and eternal judgement.

Acts 4:11 This Jesus is ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.’ 12 Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

The coming of Jesus Christ to the earth will not be in vain over your life and family in Jesus name. You will be totally delivered from sin and eternal judgement in Jesus name.

3.       God has forgiven you your sins in Christ Jesus if you accept His forgiveness:

His forgiveness is an outspring of His enduring love. Forgiveness says you have wronged me, I am deeply pained. Ordinarily, you ought to experience the pain I am experiencing and much more. But I choose to forgive you. I choose to spare you the pain and its attendant consequences. I will be content with the pain you have caused me; I will not require it from you anymore. I will bear the pain. Go free, be joyful and flourish notwithstanding that you have caused me deep pain. Because of my deep love, I will bear deep pain at no recourse to you. In fact, I will be willing to take pain on your behalf, the guiltless for the guilty, the just for the unjust.

For indeed Christ died for sins once for all, the Just and Righteous for the unjust and unrighteous [the Innocent for the guilty] so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the Spirit; (1 Peter 3:18).

The Forgiveness of God will justify you in the end in Jesus name.

4.       His love beautifies you. That is why every child of God is beautiful.  The Bible says in psalm 149:4 that God beautifies his saints with salvation.  Every saint is beautiful.

Your beauty will shine till the end in Jesus name.

5.       His love commands honour upon your life. You are royalty.  You now belong to a royal family. Your Father is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Your Father is a great King. The child of a lion is a lion. The child of a King is a king. A royalty.

The Bible declares in 1 Peter 2:9 that But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

May you abound in honour all your days in Jesus name.

6.       You have been transformed from powerlessness to being a person of power. Power to enforce the authority of the kingdom of God over the enemies of God and His kingdom.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (KJV).

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name (AMP)

May you reign in power over your enemies in Jesus mighty name.

7.       You are a person with authority: In the words of a King is power. You are a king with power. Luke 10:19

Ecclesiastes 8:4

Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? KJV

for the king's word is supreme. Who can say to him, "What are you doing?" WEB

8.       His mercy is an outspring of His love. His love causes you to change levels – literally. For a dead person to be raised from the dead, from death to life. That is a miracle. Not only that, He has now raised you up – as many as are saved – to be seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above all principality and power and every name that is named (Ephesians 2:1-6).

1And you [He made alive when you] were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of your transgressions and sins, 2in which you once walked. You were following the ways of this world [influenced by this present age], in accordance with the prince of the power of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient [the unbelieving, who fight against the purposes of God]. 3Among these [unbelievers] we all once lived in the passions of our flesh [our behavior governed by the sinful self], indulging the desires of [a]human nature [without the Holy Spirit] and [the impulses] of the [sinful] mind. We were, by nature, children [under the sentence] of [God’s] wrath, just like the rest [of mankind]. 4But God, being [so very] rich in mercy, because of His great and wonderful love with which He loved us, 5even when we were [spiritually] dead and separated from Him because of our sins, He made us [spiritually] alive together with Christ (for by His grace--His undeserved favor and mercy--you have been saved from God’s judgment). 6And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus,

His mercy will be unfailing upon your life in Jesus name.

9.       He heals you because of His love/compassion. Another word for love is compassion – we cannot pay for His love. Jesus healed me of migraine and stomach ulcer. He healed the man who had been sick for 38 years at the pool of Bethesda in John 5:1-16. Bethesda means mercy. He was healed by mercy which is granted by love at the pool of mercy. Your much needed mercy and healing will not pass you by in Jesus name.

10.   He saves you from eternal damnation because of His unexplainable love. And (Jesus) having been made perfect [uniquely equipped and prepared as Savior and retaining His integrity amid opposition], He became the source of eternal salvation [an eternal inheritance] to all those who obey Him (Hebrews 5:9).

24but, on the other hand, Jesus holds His priesthood permanently and without change, because He lives on forever. 25Therefore He is able also to save (to the uttermost) forever (completely, perfectly, for eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede and intervene on their behalf [with God]. (Hebrews 7).

You will be saved from eternal damnation by the mercy of God in Jesus name.

What should I do to qualify for God’s love or continue in His love?

Requirements for abiding in His love:

1. Accept His love by being saved.

How can you be saved? You are saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and savior. By believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and savior.

The Bible states in Romans 10: (AMP) 9because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous--being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. 11For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM [whoever adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him] WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED [in his expectations].”

Accept Jesus as your Lord today and God will write your name in the book of life as a citizen of heaven. He will also give you the Holy Spirit to lead you, teach you, guide you and enable you live above sin.

2. Live holy. What does holiness mean and how can you live in holiness?

Live in holiness – holiness is absolute obedience to God. The power of the sons of God comes by and is sustained by holiness. Living in holiness is living in obedience and following the instructions of the Holy Spirit. The Bible declares this unequivocally in the life of Jesus, our perfect example in Romans 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

3. Obey His commandments.  The commandments are not suggestions, they are commands. By His grace and the help of the Holy Spirit you will be able to obey His commandments in Jesus name.

4. Walk in the dominion that God has given you. The Bible states in John 14:12 that: I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father.
