His Love Has Lifted Me

Prayers

1.     Sing a song of praise and worship to God: Glorify His Holy Name

2.     Father, let your enduring love always be upon my life and help me to love as you love in the name of Jesus.

Text: 1 John 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

May God’s love lift you up in every area of your life where you need lifting in Jesus name.

Note:

1.     What is real love? As we move towards seasons where people take it upon themselves to express love to people around them, it is good to remind ourselves of the real, undiluted genuine love and its implications for our lives.

2.     God activated His love towards you, without you doing nothing to initiate the love relationship.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

You had all to gain and God had a great loss to bear in the death of His greatly loved son – for you – and yet God did all that for you out of love.

3.     God’s love is greater and better than any love you can encounter.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)

That is why when some unmarried and not yet ready to marry youth, teenagers, and even some adults lie to members of the opposite sex to take advantage of them, abuse them, or satisfy their lustful carnal desires, there is a need to be watchful and resist satanically, sinful motivated advances made in the name of love. Love that is not rooted in God is not love.

For ready-to-marry brethren, allow the love of God to lead by considering your to be spouse as you would treat a brother or sister. Pray and let the Holy Spirit guide you on your choice of partner and be sure that the individual is God’s perfect will for your life before going into the relationship (Romans 12:2).

May God lead and guide you in your relationships in Jesus’ name.

You will not fall into the trap of the enemy in the name of Jesus.

4.     Remember that God can do anything and everything you need Him to do for you because of His love for you.

He raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11). This has several implications:

·       No matter how challenging the problem you are going through is, for example, sickness – Lazarus was sick - God still loves you, His love for you remains intact and you will come out better at the end.

·       Even if the problem(s) are going from bad to worse, God is still in charge and He will deliver you. Lazarus did not get better during his sickness, in fact, the sickness/problem kept getting worse, yet Jesus loved him. The challenges or problems notwithstanding, God loves you and has your deliverance planned out.

·       Even when the problems appear to move from worse to irredeemable, uncorrectable, too bad, too big, etc., the problem can be corrected and God can make a change that will move you from death to life, sorrow to joy and loss to gain. We serve an Almighty God to whom nothing is impossible.

May God heal you where you need healing in Jesus’ name.

What to do to always have the Love of God upon your life

1.     Do not reject God’s offer of love by rejecting His Son Jesus Christ. Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. God’s love is in His Son. Become born again.

2.     Live for God. God’s love compels us to live for Him.

14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. (2 Corinthians 5)

3.     Stay in the Love of God. We can be made perfect (mature, completely acceptable to God, meeting all requisite requirements to enter heaven (Matthew 5:48) as you stay in the love of God.

Love Comes from God

7Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19We love him, because he first loved us. 20If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. (1 John 4)

4.     Don’t be discouraged by problems and afflictions. It is through these that we also enter into the Kingdom of God (hereafter) and the power of God’s Kingdom (in the now) as we see His love and mighty hand of comfort, deliverance, provision, protection, etc.

5.     Be willing to go the extra mile for others in Christ’s stead, as a representative of Jesus. We are ambassadors for Christ.

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (1 John 3:16)

6.     Keep yourself in the love of God. God will keep you because of His mercy and love. You also have a responsibility to keep yourself in the love of God. Don’t tempt God.

and keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously and looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ [which will bring you] to eternal life. (Jude 1:21)

May God give you the grace to keep yourself in His love in Jesus name.

Father, let your enduring love always be upon my life and family in Jesus’ name.
